Navigating Your Journey through Grief – Sundays

Every Sunday Until May 5 at 4:00 pm

NO MEETING ON APRIL 7

“Navigating Your Journey Through Grief” is a 7-week educational grief support workshop open to anyone in the church or community who is grieving the death of a loved one. This opportunity to learn more about the grieving process will be offered both as an online group and as an in-person group. The online group will meet on Sundays from 4 – 5:30pm beginning February 5.  The in-person group will begin meeting the following Wednesday, February 8, from 6:30 – 8pm in room B116 at Mt. Bethel Church.

Grieving can often feel overwhelming with a myriad of emotions and challenges that sometimes can seem out of control. It can be even more difficult when well-meaning people give you unsound advice such as, “just give it time,” or “get back to your normal activities as soon as you can.” This workshop series will help you understand the goals and tasks of grieving.

Dr. Susan Zonnebelt-Smeenge, a licensed clinical psychologist, and Dr. Robert DeVries, a pastor and seminary professor, have developed and will lead this group based on a book they have written entitled Traveling Through Grief: Learning to Live Again After the Death of a Loved One. Susan and Bob also served Mt. Bethel Church as facilitators of the GriefShare program, but you do not have to have attended those sessions to come to this group. Contact Rev. Kim McGarr with questions.

NOTE: This program is also offered on Wednesdays. Options available through registration link.
