Men’s Gathering

Join us on October 27 at 6:30pm for a social at McCray’s Tavern. You’ll have an opportunity to meet up with old friends, make some new ones, and greet our new Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) liaison,  Edwin Turnipseed. Edwin also serves as pastor for our NextGen ministries at  Mt. Bethel.

Prior to coming to Mt. Bethel, Edwin attended and played defensive back at the University of Georgia. When asked how he became involved in FCA, Edwin responded, “My freshman year in college my DB position coach carried himself around us in a different way. I asked him one day about this. He mentioned that he was a Believer and had done some work with FCA. That intrigued me, so I asked about what FCA was. I modeled the way that I coached/taught/lead after him. I am still in contact with him to this day.”

FCA’s mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Edwin says his personal life goal is to not just lead coaches and athletes, but also lead every person he meets to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Edwin holds a Master of Divinity degree and has pastored at Impact Church, Atlanta First UMC, Restoration Covenant Church, and taught Bible at Whitefield Academy. He has coached in several schools throughout the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta area. Edwin is also currently a Board member of the Urban Atlanta Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Board Chair of Safehouse Outreach, one of Mt. Bethel’s missions partners.

We’ll provide appetizers. Other food and beverages will be available for purchase from the menu.
