Teaching

Academic Curriculum: MB Preschool curriculum includes a balance of hands-on educational activities and creative playtime. Children are provided with ample time to play and explore. Teachers present activities that encourage thinking and problem solving and offer a clear way to track developmental progress. The curriculum covers all key learning domains and does so in a way that is fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for all learners.

For children three years and older, we encompass reading, writing, language, literacy, and STEM. These students enjoy weekly visits to music, Spanish, and creative movement, as well as frequent in-house educational visitors and field trips.

MB Preschool also offers several after-school enrichment programs on-site.

Christian Curriculum: The top priority of MB Preschool is to instill a foundation of three basic Christian principles with each child: God made them, God loves them, and God wants to be their friend forever! The goal is to help every student come to understand what it means to have a relationship with our Savior! All teachers profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have a passion for sharing the Word of God with children.

Children ages three and older attend a Chapel service once a week where they are led in fun kid-friendly worship songs and hear an age-appropriate Bible story. Teacher and student-led prayers are a part of the day-to-day curriculum as well as blessings before each snack or meal.

Teachers: Teachers at MB Preschool have an average of 10 years of experience and most have at least five years of experience with Mt. Bethel Preschool.

Staff members pass a background check, are trained in First-Aid, and are CPR certified each year. Training and development for staff are ongoing while lead teachers for fours and fives classes have degrees in education.

Facilities

Classroom: Each classroom has a large open floor plan with child-friendly seating and tables. Bathrooms, sinks, and water fountains are within eyesight of each room; most rooms are accommodated with individual bathroom and sink. Classrooms, toys, and supplies are cleaned after every use.

Focus on Family

Emotional/Social Development: Emotional and social skills are taught, encouraged, and celebrated at MB Preschool. Learning self-control, self-help, socialization, and expressive and receptive communication skills are all apart of the day-to-day learning. The preschool strives to create an environment that fosters friendships between children as well as friendships between parents!

Parents: Parent involvement is highly encouraged and is an integral part of the overall success of our program. In addition to parent-teacher conferences, there is a multitude of opportunities for parents to walk alongside their young learners during their time with us. MB Preschool encourages parent participation in class parties, festivals, book fairs, story time, and more! They is an active Parents’ Club that hosts fundraising and social events during the year to benefit the children and the preschool.

Mt. Bethel Community: Upon arrival to the MB Preschool, you’ll notice that the “little yellow school” is a part of a much larger “yellow church.” There is no shortage of opportunities for the whole family to get connected.
