Rev. Glenn Ray
Glenn has been a pastor in the local church since 1967, and has served churches in North Georgia, Mississippi, Illinois, and Iowa. After ministering in the Midwest for 13 years, Glenn returned to Georgia and is on staff at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia, where he is pastor of Congregational Care.
While living in the Midwest, Glenn was Senior Pastor of the Grimes UMC in Des Moines, Iowa from 2001 to 2010 where he was instrumental in the church growing from 30 to 325 attendees on Sunday morning. Glenn introduced contemporary worship to the church, and before he left the church, there were two praise bands leading worship during both Sunday services. The Grimes UMC worship bands were sought after to perform at religious and secular events across Central Iowa. Glenn sang with the group and played both bass and rhythm guitar. Prior to that, Glenn was a Chaplain for two years in Rockford, Illinois, at Wesley Willows Retirement Center.
Glenn has preached, led singing, and sung all over the south in Camp meetings and revivals. He has also performed concerts in local churches and ministered through song in nursing homes and retirement facilities.
