So Thankful for the “D” Moms

I was so very happy to deliver some fantastic children’s clothes, made possible via the “D” moms who recently participated in the annual Fall Children’s Consignment Sale. This outstanding young man from Cobb Street Ministries shared with me last week that he was concerned about having a warm coat for this winter. I was there when he got off the bus from school today, and with Mrs. Carol’s permission, I let him choose this warm jacket from the three winter coats I brought. And with mom’s permission, here is his smile for you to see!
Now, to explain what I mean by the “D” moms: They are all those wonderful families who check the “D” box on their paperwork when they turn in their clothes for the sale, indicating they will “donate” any left over items that happen not to sell. At the end of the day, via a vetted process, some families and charities have the opportunity to participate in the sharing of the “D” donations. Cobb Street Ministries is one of the local charities that is so very grateful for the love and hours of hard work that many volunteers, including the “D”moms, who graciously sacrifice their time, roll up their sleeves, and pour their love and hard work into every detail that goes into putting on this sale, twice a year, every year! God Bless you.
