Mt. Bethel Children’s Generosity Exceeds Expectations

During February and March, Children’s Ministry had a goal of collecting enough money ($125) to make a donation of 12 small farm animals to a family overseas through World Vision, a global Christian humanitarian organization that partners with children, families, and communities to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice. Our children watched videos and discussed how a gift of 8 ducks, 2 chickens, and 2 rabbits could provide income, nutrition, and hope to families and communities. They connected with meeting the basic needs of families through donating animals, and we quickly reached our goal. Instantly, they began to dream about additional animals they could donate. As we watched the videos about the impact a sheep, goat, alpaca, or cow can have on a family, the children continued to give generously. Our expectations were significantly exceeded as they gave almost $700, over 5 times the original goal!
All have been eagerly waiting to hear the total collected and see what they were able to purchase. So, here it is. The pre-school and elementary children of Mt. Bethel have donated:
• 12 small farm animals (ducks, chickens, rabbits)
• A sheep
• A goat
• An alpaca
• A share of a cow

We couldn’t be more pleased with their loving hearts and joyful, generous giving! Well done, good and faithful servants!
