Purpose: To provide a pathway of hope by building relationships and reaching out to one of the poorest counties in the United States, McDowell County in Welch, WVA, with the love of Jesus Christ.
Activities: This will be Mt. Bethel's first construction project for Hands of Hope ministries. We will be assisting with a full renovation for space for their new Hope Chest storefront and apartments for mission teams to stay. We will be assisting with some small construction projects, putting up plywood on the walls and floors, painting, and possible minor electrical work. No experience required, just a willingness to serve along with some great people! We will also be packing food boxes that are sold in the Hope Chest which serves the community with affordable clothing, household items, and food. We have the opportunity to go out into the community and deliver sack lunches into the hollers directly to the children and outreach visits to low-income apartments to meet residents and share the word of God and prayer. When the weather is nice, we accompany a local church and worship with the community before hitting the road!
Do you know anyone moving? Ask them to consider donating clothing, bedding, kitchen, and other household items to the Hands of Hope donation trailer near the CAC.
