Ash Wednesday Services
Ash Wednesday, the Wednesday six weeks before Easter Sunday, marks the beginning of the Lenten season. It is traditionally recognized as a holy day of fasting, sacrifice, and prayer. The sign of the cross is placed with ashes upon the forehead as a symbol of repentance and is not removed during the day, indicating to all who see it the individual’s acceptance of and allegiance to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
