The Children’s Ministry Renovation team is excited to share with the church that it has officially kicked-off the 18-month renovation process! To summarize, a team called Ministry Architects came to the church in the fall of 2016 and conducted a thorough review of Mt. Bethel UMC’s Children’s Ministry. Through various focus groups with different subsets of the church, they created a report outlining both assets and challenges for MBUMC going forward.
These recommendations and goals will help the church to continue to cultivate a sustainable children’s ministry that engages the children, parents, and members alike while supporting the children of MBUMC as they grow in Christ.
In November, a team of five church members (Daniel Herring, Tripp Stelts, Casey Alarcon, Kristen Herrin, and Ann Weatherly) was assembled to begin this process under the direction of MBUMC’s Children’s Ministry leadership and Ministry Architect leads, Bryant Johnson and Becki Manni. In addition to this team, the church’s amazing Children’s Ministry staff is enthusiastically collaborating throughout the process.
During the first meeting, the goals were outlined and the first of many action plans created. The team is extremely enthusiastic and committed to this process and will collaborate for the best interest of MBUMC and the glory of Christ. We ask that the church body pray for the Children’s Ministry staff, the Renovation Team, and Becki and Bryant as we work diligently to glorify the Lord in all decisions and plans made.
Report and Goals
This executive summary from Becki Manni provides key points, assets and challenges, and recommendations on what changes need to be made to help the Children’s Ministry continue to flourish. It has been consolidated from the initial report to contain an overview of the findings (Read the full report). Goals for the Renovation Team moving forward were set by the Ministry Architect Team based on the feedback communicated to them in focus groups and through their initial assessment of Children’s Ministry. The team will keep the church posted about this exciting time in Mt. Bethel’s Children’s Ministry throughout the process – please stay tuned!
