Faith Milestone: The Lord’s Prayer
February 3 | 11:00 am - 11:20 am | Sanctuary
Marking children’s physical “firsts” such as first steps and first words, is an exciting and memorable part of parenting. Just as important, and just as worthy of celebration, are spiritual firsts, or faith milestones. These milestones, or rites, help children know they’re growing as Christians and continually reconnecting to their faith family. Milestones, which will be shared throughout the year, allow Mt. Bethel and parents to partner together to raise lifelong followers of Jesus.
On February 3, 2019, we invite all first graders to lead the congregation in the Lord’s Prayer in the Traditional Worship service (11am) in the Sanctuary. Please register if you are planning for your child to participate so we can have an idea of our group size. Parents should bring their first grader to the designated reserved rows in the Sanctuary by 10:40am.
In preparation for this special experience, please join us in January at KidCity or Catechesis to learn a fun and easy way of memorizing and understanding the Lord’s Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13, given to us by Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount. In order to prepare to recite the Lord’s Prayer, we will be studying each component of the prayer to understand this familiar and comforting way to communicate with God.
After reciting the Lord’s Prayer, the group will dismiss to Room A23 under the Sanctuary for pick up by parents. Remaining students will be taken to 11am KidCity or Catechesis according to the check-in on their nametags.
