ERT Chainsaw Certification
April 13 | 8:30 am - 4:30 pm | MB North Campus
$20 includes lunch and manual
The wait is finally over! Mt. Bethel Disaster Response will host our first Chainsaw Certification Class on Saturday, April 13. Over the years, many members have asked for us to host this training. Why? To enable us to serve more people in need created by wind-driven disasters.
Recently, we wanted to respond to the tornadoes in central Georgia but could not because UMC Annual Conferences require volunteers be certified before they can serve. This class stresses safety through teamwork when cutting trees. The morning is devoted to classwork and the afternoon is hands-on training (operating saws). Class capacity is 20. Register now!
Training event specifics are as follows:
Equipment – Bring your own saw
Personal Protective Gear – high top boots w/lug soles and steel toe, chainsaw chaps that meet OSHA regulations, chainsaw gloves, chainsaw helmet (hardhat, ear muffs, eye shield)**
ERT Badge – Anyone is eligible to take the class; however, to receive Chainsaw Certification, trainee must have ERT badge.
**NOTE: If you own PPG equipment, please bring it. Mt. Bethel has five sets of PPG that will be available for trainees who do not own their own.
