After the sale ends and the funds are disbursed, many of the best consignment sale stories begin. This summer, the consignment sale was in Romania. How? Consignment sale funds paid for VBS through Life Academy, which included lunch and craft supplies for 63 children.

Here’s a recount of the day from Cecilia Rider, one of Mt. Bethel’s volunteers:

“We held the VBS next to a lake in a nature preserve up in the hills about 15 or 20 minutes outside Anina. The children were bused in from the town by the church there. There were already some waiting for us when we arrived! It was such a beautiful setting in which to talk about God’s creation and love for us all.

We had 63 children, ranging from about 6 years old up into their teens. The children were split into groups by age and rotated through different stations. We sang songs, told Bible stories, made salvation bracelets, played games, jumped in a bouncy house, built chain reaction machines, took pictures in a “photo booth,” and talked about how much God loved them because first He created them, then He sent Jesus to die for all our sins.

After the VBS lessons and a picnic lunch were over, we gave them their pictures and gift bags of food before they returned to the buses to go home. It was a wonderful opportunity to tell the story of our Savior to His beautiful Romanian children.”

Everyone who is part of this sale is part of Kingdom-expanding stories like these. Go to our website for more stories and see if you would like to get more involved. We can use consignors, volunteers, shoppers, and bakers for the upcoming sale on August 18-19.
