The Worship Arts Ministry is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Music Ministry Scholarships. These scholarships were established in honor of Debbie Pierce and in memory of Carol Jean Leach for their years of faithful service to Mt. Bethel. The scholarships honor high school seniors who have been active participants in using music to witness and worship here at Mt. Bethel and in their community. This year will be the final year that these awards will be presented, so we are triply pleased to be able to honor three graduates.
- Haden Wise is the winner of the $2000 Carol Jean Leach Scholarship. Haden has been a member of our children’s and student choirs since pre-school. He also played handbells in the children’s, student, and adult groups. He will be attending the University of Alabama Huntsville in the fall, majoring in Industrial Engineering.
- Lily John is a winner of $1000 from the Deborah V. Pierce Scholarship. Lily has been very active in music both inside and outside our church walls. She has sung in our choirs since pre-school and frequently leads worship now in our modern worship services. Lily will attend Southeast Missouri State University in the fall, majoring in Music Theater.
- Maggie Jones is also a $1000 winner from the Deborah V. Pierce Scholarship. Maggie began singing in our choirs when she was a pre-schooler in weePraise and has consistently been involved in student choirs, mission teams, handbells, and media. Maggie will attend Western Carolina University Honors College in the fall, majoring in Forensic Chemistry and Anthropology.
The Worship Arts Ministry is so proud of these three students and grateful for their many years of service through music.
