Missio Link International-Deborah House – Romania Mission Trip

July 6 - 15

Team Leader:
Chris Sweitzer

Age Requirements:
The minimum age is 15 for this trip. Because the girls at the Deborah House range from 10 to 18 years old, this is an especially good trip for our youth.

In partnership with Missio Link International, join us in serving the women and girls living in the Deborah House near Timisoara, Romania.

Deborah House is a refuge for girls rescued from trafficking or sexual abuse. Founded in 2002, Deborah House now consists of two residential homes together serving 20-25 teenage girls, each staffed by a trained Christian couple to function as house parents. The Deborah House ministry provides safety, food and shelter, a loving environment, a spiritual foundation, and counseling and psychological support to create a sanctuary of healing and hope for girls that often arrive at Deborah House with the loss of hope and self-esteem which have been stolen by their abusers. A girl may arrive broken and feeling worthless, but at Deborah House she can find safety, love and hope to replace the trauma of her past abuse and pain.  Mission team visits are a welcome part of the healing process.

Our Mission: The Deborah House is a ministry of Missio Link International in RomaniaMissio is a Latin word used to speak of the “mission of God” that is, Missio Dei. As a name, Missio Link International (MLI) precisely reflects our calling to participate in God’s mission to His Church and to the World by fostering partnerships between Christians, churches, and organizations, aimed at Christian witness, edification and service to those in need.”

What Will We Be Doing?
We are planning a Mt. Bethel team of 6-12 individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of these young Romanian girls who have been rescued from trafficking or sexual abuse. While there may be a physical project, the primary goal of our Mt. Bethel mission team will be to build relationships and demonstrate God’s love with the girls through personal interaction, crafts, games, and vacation Bible school type activities, sharing, devotionals, prayer and testimony. There may also be several field trips to experience some of the other ministry activities of our host, Missio Link. No special skills are required, only a desire to share God’s love with these precious young women!

Trip Cost:
$2,800 +/  to cover international airfare, ground transportation, lodging and meals while in Romania, travel insurance, and translator. A $150 deposit is due at registration, an amount equal to the airfare will be due at time of ticket booking, and the balance due 30 days before departure, payable to Mt. Bethel online or by check. A valid passport required. .
