Most of us know Vacation Bible School as an opportunity to share great Bible teachings with children. And we do that at Mt. Bethel for children ages 4 thru rising 6th grade. In the past we have had as many as 800+ children participate in one program. We still maintain that small group feeling by dividing the children by age/grade and using almost every room on campus. It’s amazing and fun. One other way that we make Mt. Bethel VBS special is by reaching out to support local and global missions. We highlight 2-3 ministries and offer opportunities for children to donate specific items. Children will learn about the work of these ministries, and see how their donations make a difference for children near and far.
Tuesday (June 12) – Holy Water – Fundraiser (coins & dollar bills)
Goal: Fundraiser (coins & dollar bills)
Speaker: Julia Miller (Founder)
Ministry Highlight: Holy Water Foundation is an organization that raises money to provide clean drinking water to people all around the world through wells, filters, and much more. We not only provide water supplies for people outside the country, but also for people in the United States. Every 15 seconds a child dies from a water-related disease. With your help we can reduce that number! There are lots of simple things you can do to help, like reducing your shower time, or shutting off your water when you’re brushing your teeth. An American taking a 5 minute shower uses more water than a typical person in a developing country slum uses in a whole day. A small donation can go a long way.

P82 Ministry Highlight:
The mission of PROJECT 82 is to be the evidence of God’s grace and perfect love to orphans in Kenya. We will protect, shelter, clothe, feed, educate, disciple and support them in an environment of family and community.
There are 43.4 million orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa, and Kenya is home to 3 million of them. The statistics surrounding the rising population and the immense suffering of these children can be overwhelming. Did you know that, in Kenya, ….
- Over 25% of the population live on less than $1 per day
- 700 children are orphaned every day (that is a child every 2 minutes)
- 1/3 are orphaned due to HIV / AIDS
- In some regions, over 25% of orphans are acutely malnourished
- 12-15% of homes in Kenya are headed by an orphan sibling
In a nation with a rising population of orphans due to HIV AIDS, tribal conflict and poverty driven disease, communities are struggling to care for the orphans among them.
M25 Ministry Highlight:
The mission of Mt. Bethel’s M25 + Opening Our Doors (Homeless Ministry) is to reach out to the least and the lost of Jesus’ brothers and sisters and minister to them with love, respect, friendship, and prayer.
