Whether you can serve regularly or just from time-to-time, Mt. Bethel needs you! Here are some of the many on-campus needs we have. Please contact Kibbie Parish if you are interested in learning more about any of them, and she’ll get you connected.
Greeters: Serve as our welcoming committee on Sunday mornings at Mt. Bethel.
Parking Ushers: Direct our members and visitors to available parking.
Tram Driver: Drive one of our two golf carts in our parking lot to shuttle from the far reaches of our parking lot to the Sanctuary, Contemporary Service, and Education Building.
Ushers: Hand out bulletins as you greet people entering the Sanctuary, take up the offering, and assist with communion.
Sunday Phone Volunteer: Answer the phone in the front office on Sunday mornings.
Media: Run audio-video equipment during services. No experience required – we’ll teach you!
North Campus: Serve at the North Campus
Special Projects Committee: Assist with various projects at Mt. Bethel.
Financial Volunteer: Count offerings received each Sunday during worship services.
Handwriting/Calligraphy: Help with special occasions throughout the year.
Membership Attendance: Record worship attendance.
Office Volunteer: Assist the staff with administrative needs as projects occur.
Weekday Phone Volunteers: Assist with phones and light administrative work.
Bookstore Volunteer: Work the register and help around the store.
Help prepare the Sanctuary for worship on a weekly basis, and for special seasonal occasions.
Flower Arranging: Help make special occasion flower arrangements such as Mother’s Day corsages and the Easter cross. Rearrange the Sunday altar flowers then deliver them to nursing homes and shut-in members.
Handy Helpers: Serve on an “on-call” basis to do minor household repairs for our elderly, shut-ins, and those suffering from long-term illnesses.
Deliver Meals on Wednesday evenings: Pick up meals from the church on Wednesday evening to deliver to elder members or families who are in need due to recovering from illness, injury, or surgery.
Prayer Correspondent: Volunteers pray for and send notes to our church members and their families who have requested to be on the church prayer list.
Voices United – Prayer Group: Join this Prayer group each Thursday in room A23 from 7-8pm as they prayer for Mt. Bethel’s staff and ministries.
Stephen Ministry: Work with individuals going through divorce, illness, death of a loved one, job loss, or any reason an individual may want a little extra support in their lives.
Transportation: Provide transportation on an “as needed” basis for our elderly and homebound members as well as those recovering from illness, injury or surgery.
FOOD SERVICE MINISTRY
Tuesday Lunch Cashier: Handle cash for lunch on Tuesdays.
Wednesday Night Dinners: Prepare, serve, and clean up each Wednesday to feed 700 to 1000 hungry souls.
MEDIA and COMMUNICATIONS
Media: Run audio-video equipment during services and special events. No experience required – we’ll teach you!
Photography: Take pictures of various activities around Mt. Bethel as needed by Communications staff, edit, and upload to Mt. Bethel website.
ADULT EDUCATION MINISTRY
Bible Study Leaders: Lead or facilitate a Bible study, and learn along with your group.
Sunday School Teachers (Adult): Lead or teach a new class to accommodate Mt. Bethel’s growth.
Logistics: Help in the Elementary and Preschool departments: take attendance, aid teachers in the resource rooms, make sure that all teachers are present, and help children find their way to the classrooms.
Nursery: Help in our busy nursery.
Sunday School Teacher (two-year-olds – four-year-olds): Lead or co-lead a class. Training, support, and materials provided.
Sunday School Teacher (5K – fifth grade): Lead or co-lead a class. Training, support, and materials provided.
Vacation Bible School: We need directors (preschool and elementary), station leaders (art, storytelling, video, and snacks), crew leaders, logistics, and recruiting for June VBS.
God’s Garden (three- and four-year-olds worship): Worship leaders, parent volunteers to assist with crowd control, bathroom, logistics, etc., and substitutes. Materials are provided.
Kids Quest (Kindergarten – second-grade worship): Meet children at the doors with enthusiasm, help kids get registered and checked in and help with security and pick-up. Also, volunteers are needed to assist with the worship service.
The POD (third grade – fifth grade worship): Meet children at the doors with enthusiasm, help kids get registered, checked-in, security and picked-up. Also, volunteers are needed to assist with the worship service.
Special Needs Sunday School: Help with class for for children and young teens.
Music Library: Help in the music library on a weekly basis and “on-call” for special projects. No experience required.
Drama Ministry: Help with sets, costumes, choreography, sound, lighting, and especially acting.
iPraise/iPraise, Jr.: Parent volunteers needed on Wednesdays and during performances.
Coaches: Serve as coach or assistant coach for one of our children’s recreation teams.
Adult Leaders: Assist throughout the year with student groups.
