We define “family” as any group of people gathered together with Christ at the center. In Matthew 12:46-50 we read,
While Jesus was still talking to the crowds, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to talk to you.” He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
In this passage, Jesus was not neglecting his mother and brothers, but he was defining the spiritual family: those who do the will of the Father. The spiritual family consists of all people who have Christ at the center of their lives.
Children ages 0-2 are invited to Kidzone, Jr., a nurturing environment with age-appropriate toys and music, staffed by trained nursery workers. Children ages 3-8 are invited to Kidzone where we guide them to know and love God through Bible stories, art, movement, music, and prayer. We believe much spiritual formation takes place during the time of family worship, so we invite and encourage our children ages 9 and up to participate in church with their parents.
For Students in grades six through twelve, we believe the best experience will be for young men and women to participate in Sunday evening Life Groups and in weekday programs at the Mt. Bethel main campus. Mt. Bethel Student Ministry information »
