We offer a wide variety of fitness and exercise classes to help you work out here at Mt. Bethel. All classes are held in our aerobics room.
Class descriptions
Body Sculpting: A challenging class that uses free weights, bands and stability balls to build muscle strength. For beginners and experienced students.
Cardio Burn: This class will focus on cardiovascular endurance. It will include a variety of lower impact, constant exercises that will increase your cardio levels as well as tone large muscle groups. The last 15 minutes will consist of abdominal exercises.
Muscle Pump: A challenging class that uses free weights, bands and stability balls to build muscle strength. For more experienced students.
Pilates: An intense strengthening workout developed by Joseph Pilates which focuses on building core muscle. Improves stabilization, flexibility, balance, control, concentration, and coordination.
Total Barre Toning: Combines precise muscle sculpting and stretching principles using a ballet barre as well as free weights. This class creates the long, lean lines of a dancer at a pace that burns fat and sculpts muscle.
Beginner Yoga: The most important basic poses will be taught starting at the very beginning. This class is designed for students who are interested in yoga but have been hesitant to join a class with more experienced students. After completion of this class, the student will be able to attend a basics or gentle class with confidence.
Gentle Yoga: Uses stretching and restorative postures to gently lengthen muscles and increase joint flexibility. Breathing and concentration techniques enhance relaxation, reduce stress, and nurture the body, mind, and soul in a Christian environment. For all students, especially those with limited movement.
Yin Yoga: Want to improve your golf game? Yin yoga features seated and reclining poses passively held 3 – 5 minutes and focuses on releasing deep connective tissue. This approach frees the joints and focuses the mind, so that everything becomes easier. No prior yoga experience required.
Yoga Basics: Teaches the basics of Hatha Yoga including proper alignment in basic postures, breathing, and relaxation from a Christian perspective. Gently lengthens muscles while building strength and flexibility throughout the body. This weight-bearing practice also improves posture, balance and focus. Students are encouraged to go at their own pace and modify postures as necessary. For beginners & experienced students.
Zumba: Latin rhythms and body sculpting moves to achieve a fantastic cardio workout. Zumba classes are sweeping the nation with their energetic music and fun but easy to learn moves. Come see what the excitement is all about.
