Mt. Bethel will begin construction of our next home in September 2012. Hundreds of volunteers, Road Race sponsors and participants, Habitat supporters and benefactors will honor God’s call, coming together to share the love of Christ with our Habitat homeowner families.
Habitat has an open-door policy. Everyone who desires to be part of this work is welcome, regardless of religious preference or background. Habitat has a policy of building with people in need regardless of race or religion.
Habitat homeowners contribute 100 hours of sweat equity building their home and 100 hours building Habitat homes for others. They are required to attend 100 hours of classroom instruction on topics such as home maintenance, personal financial management, career advancement, child development, and more.
10% of our sponsor’s fee will be used to build homes around the globe. For example, the sponsor’s fee for the two Habitat homes that Mt Bethel will begin in the fall 2012 could fund eight homes in Ghana in addition to the two we will build in Cobb County.
NW Metro Atlanta Habitat (formerly Cobb Habitat) ranks in the top 20 of Habitat International’s 2000+ affiliates. Mt Bethel is NW Metro Atlanta Habitat’s leading builder of Habitat homes.
We need race sponsors, volunteers to build the homes, groups and/or individuals to provide lunches for the workers, volunteers and participants for the road race, and most of all, your prayers and support.
