Stephen Ministry
There are times when each of us needs a caring person to listen to us and pray with us about situations we are living in or facing. Stephen Ministers are trained, caring members of Mt. Bethel who provide distinctively Christian one-on-one care to those who are experiencing any life situation or crisis that has occurred and has placed them in need of a care giver for care and support. This can be an immediate and current need, or one whose burden the care receiver has carried for too long alone. These situations may include, but are certainly not limited to: births, deaths, serious or terminal illness, family crisis, divorce, depression, problems with children, caring for aging parents, or financial problems- literally any life changing/threatening situation. Strict confidentiality is a cornerstone of Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers are assigned to one specific care receiver of the same gender to give one-on-one distinctively Christian care. They help by listening and sharing God’s love to help get through the confusion, stress, hurt, or loneliness. You can request a Stephen Minister by calling John Semler – 770-721-3936 or Kibbie Jones – 678-560-7230.
