Classroom Curriculum

We use a thematic unit box curriculum for our two-, three-, four-, and five-year-old classes.  The unit boxes are filled with hands-on activities for use in our center-oriented classrooms.  These centers include dramatic play, art, manipulatives, science, cooking, and blocks.  We provide age-appropriate learning activities in pre-reading and pre-math.

To enhance the classroom curriculum, we have regular visits from various resource people in our area.  We plan monthly in-house activities or field trips for our three-year-old, four-year-old, and five-year-old students.  Each week the classes visit our music teacher, spanish teacher and creative movement teacher for added enrichment.

Parent involvement is an integral part of the overall success of our program.  From class parties, special activities, story time, even “computer Moms and Dads,” we welcome parents to participate.
At Mt. Bethel Christian Preschool, we believe that each child is a unique individual who should be allowed to grow and develop using stimulating, child-centered curriculum.

We offer an exceptional and creative afterschool program called Discovery Days for children three years and older who are potty-trained.  The Discovery Days program is offered daily from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. during the school week.  There is an additional charge for this program, and parents must provide lunch for their children.  Our Discovery Days’ teachers and  outside resource specialists offer a broad range of developmental and fun activities for the children.

Parents’ Club

Our active Parents’ Club hosts fundraising and social events during the year to benefit the children and the preschool.  Your wonderful gifts and talents can be shared with our children in a variety of ways.  In the past, Parents’ Club activities have included a Fall Festival, a Birthday Party for Jesus, Field Day, Donuts with the Ones You Love, and a Book Fair.  Any level of involvement is always welcome.
