College/Young Adult Kenya Team
Mt Bethel’s college/young adult team departs the US next week.
God is moving in profound and extraordinary ways already! It is a joy to watch and we are thrilled to be a part of what He is doing. He does not need us, but that He allows us to be a part of what He is doing, and that is…simply stunning.
Everyone of you are a part of what God is doing in this, whether or not you are getting on the plane Thursday. The body of Christ exemplified!
We know God has led us to love Him and make much of Him in practical ways. The word ‘practical’ came up repeatedly in prayer, dreams, and conversations early on in His preparation of us for this experience.
We have opportunities to love like Jesus: food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, clothes for the naked…Matthew 25.
Here is a just a tiny list of what God has already laid out:
Funds have come in to purchase a cow, a good milking cow, for Rhema orphanage; underpants, socks, tooth brushes, first aid supplies, crosses, and clothing, enough to fill 17 suitcases, has been collected and will be distributed to the children; we have some cash to purchase shoes/boots for those who don’t have any, food for those who are hungry and medical attention, if ones are identified; we are going to be used to construct some necessary structures, i.e. cow sheds, kitchen shacks, and a chicken coop (and we are praying for even more) and the funds have been given to purchase those supplies; and best of all, we will live amongst the children, camp out at the orphanages, as often as possible, and get a glimpse into their daily lives and share Christ Jesus that he allows.
Another thing that we are so excited to watch and be a part of, is God moving in and through our family at The Garden. They are on our prayer team for this trip and to watch them respond to this need is extraordinary. There is a family that one of our team leaders, Annie Coppedge, has met, ‘John’s family’ is how we know him. We shared with our family at the Garden about them. Today out of their response to God, by giving them the opportunity to serve someone else and being moved by His amazing provision in their own lives, they are giving of themselves in prayer and will supply the clothing for ‘John’s family’, John, Grace, Ruth, Joyce, Susan and Wangeshi.
What a testimony to the power of God, the movement of the Holy Spirit and the body of Christ responding with their lives. You cannot keep this to yourself. All glory, honor and praise to our King.
Moving in His stunning glory,
College/Young Adult Kenya Mission Team
