Camp S.P.L.A.T. Mission Projects

Posted: Thursday, June 7, 2012

This summer, Camp S.P.L.A.T., our summer worship program for K-5 children, will be collecting items for two of Mt. Bethel’s Community Mission Partners:

For Aloha to Aging’s senior adult day care, we are collecting items to help with their meal service: Napkins, paper plates and bowls

For Atlanta Center for Self-Sufficiency’s work with homeless men and women, we are collecting personal care items, specifically:

  • Travel/hotel size shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, mouthwash
  • Washcloths. hairbrushes and combs

There will be bins in F015 each Sunday in June and July for the children to bring their donations at 9:30 or 11:00.  We will update the children weekly throughout the summer regarding the collections that have been received, and would love to have the children package the hygiene kits if we have enough supplies.

This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss missions while shopping with your children this summer, and to help them see how their contributions can help serve the least of these.
