The 17th Annual Habitat for Humanity Framing the Future 5K Race and Walk will be held on Saturday Oct 2, 2010 starting at 8:00AM in front of the Mt Bethel Community Activities Center.

The course is flat and fast offering an opportunity for a personal best for runners and a comfortable stroll for walkers.

There will be lots of pre-race activities with Jazzercise warm-up, music by the Kingsmen and our notable DJ, Bill Hassell.

We hope all participants will linger after the race for awards, great food and amusements for the kids.

The entire proceeds of the event will be used to construct Mt Bethel’s 28th and 29th Habitat homes beginning September 7, 2010. More than eight hundred volunteers, Road Race sponsors and participants, Habitat supporters and benefactors will honor God’s call, coming together to make certain that two families will escape poverty housing to an affordable home of their own in a safe neighborhood.

Habitat homeowners contribute 100 hours of sweat equity building their home and 100 hours building Habitat homes for others. They are required to attend 100 hours of classroom instruction on topics such as home maintenance, personal financial management, career advancement, child development, and more.

10% of Mt Bethel’s Habitat sponsor fee is used to build homes around the globe. For example, the sponsor’s fee for our two 2010 homes build could also fund as many as eight homes in Ghana.

Runners and walkers can sign up for the race at mtbethel.org or active.com.

Agreed! I think children are eaiesr to photograph because they look naturally happy and don’t try to pose when you point a camera at them. Great photo, Colin!
